Each year, at the Annual Conference, a member of the N.C. Association of School Resource Officers is recognized as the C.C. McGee School Resource Officer of the Year for their outstanding contributions to their school, law enforcement agency, and community.  This award is named in honor of the late C.C. McGee.  He was a former Assistant Sheriff of Forsyth County, a founding member of, and a Past President of NCASRO.  Assistant Sheriff McGee constantly worked to implement and advance the School Resource Officer concept.  He served both as a School Resource Officer and as a Supervisor of School Resource Officers during his distinguished career!
