The Lindsay Welch 5K Run/Walk was established
in the honor of Past President, Lindsay Welch in 2006. Lindsay was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Throat Cancer in 2006. He
completed 3 months of treatments and has been cancer free for 4 years.
The Run is offered to the public and benefits
go toward a Law Enforcement Officer and their family during a time of tragedy or sickness. The Board of Directors voted to
match all funds raised by the 5K Run.
Over 100 people participated in the first run in 2006 at Sea Trails Resort.
This wonderful and honorary event is hosted every year at the NCASRO Conference. If you know of a need in the

2010’s recipient:
Lt. Travis Robinson with the New Hanover Sheriff’s
Office and his family. On April 23rd, Lt. Robinson’s wife Kim, his son Collin, 13 years old, and his
daughter Carlee, 11 years old were involved in a serious motor vehicle accident on highway 11 south of Grifton, NC. The driver of the second vehicle failed to yield to a sign and collided with Kim and her children. Both vehicles were traveling about 60 mph. Kim’s
vehicle caught fire after the collision.
